Training Facilities

Everything needed for thoroughbred excellence at Hill Top Equestrian Centre, Newark.

Our state-of-the-art training facilities at Hill Top Equestrian Centre provide everything needed for thoroughbred excellence, from serious gallop work to recovery, schooling and turnout.

8 furlong all weather straight gallop

A full eight-furlong all-weather straight gallop for serious work, with consistent underfoot conditions so horses can train properly through the winter and in wet weather, not only when the turf is perfect.

3.5 furlong all weather canter track

A dedicated 3.5-furlong all-weather canter for warming up, loosening off and steady exercise. Ideal for building fitness gently and keeping horses moving between harder gallops.

Swimming pool

Equine swimming for low-impact fitness and recovery. Useful for horses coming back from injury, maintaining condition without concussion, or adding variety to the weekly programme.

3 horse walkers

Three horse walkers for controlled walking and cooling down after work. Helps manage the yard routine efficiently and keeps horses settled and moving between ridden sessions.

Indoor arena

An indoor school for schooling and ridden work when the weather turns. Gives the team a reliable space for flatwork, education and light exercise year-round.

Lunge pens

Secure lunge pens for controlled exercise, assessment and education. Particularly useful for young horses, rehab work, or days when a short, focused session is all that is needed.

Paddocks

Turnout paddocks for fresh air, grazing and mental wellbeing. Time out of the stable is part of keeping thoroughbreds happy and settled between training and race days.
